Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif put up a bold face, praising army generals for “restoring the country’s respect” through swift action during Operation Sindoor launched by India in Pakistan’s territory early on Wednesday.

“We pounced on them and shot down five Indian jets, including Rafales, and those fell near Bhatinda. Those who claimed that India has a massive advantage over Pakistan in a conventional war., got to witness the might and professionalism of our armed forces. Our enemy had to spend a sleepless night,” he told the Parliament.

He added that the Pakistan army was ready to “down the Indian jets and throw them into the sea”.

Sharif commended the Pakistan Air Force and its leadership for their quick action, asserting prior intelligence of India’s plans and successful jamming of Rafale systems. He, however, appeared to be confused about whether Indian jets crossed the border or not.

The PM further stated that the India’s offensive involved 80 Indian aircraft. “They attacked six places in Pakistan, including two in Azad Kashmir. We could have shot down more planes but our forces showed restraint,” he boasted.
