Puri: The pulling of chariots of sibling deities of Jagannath temple during Rath Yatra in Odisha’s Puri was stopped midway at around 9 pm on Tuesday.

Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra which was first to be pulled by the devotees, stopped after reaching Gundicha temple.

While Darpadalan chariot of Devi Subhadra was stopped at Badasankha, Nandighosh of Lord Jagannath halted at Mausima Chhak.

Taladhwaja was the first to be pulled by the servitors of the temple and devotees during the festival, followed by Darpadalana and Nandighosh.

The sibling deities embarked on the 9-day annual sojourn as the chariots rolled on Bada Danda (Grand Road) at around 3.04 pm. The deities were being taken in their colourful chariots to the Gundicha Temple, around 3 km away from Srimandir.

The pulling of all three chariots will resume to take the Lords to their aunt’s abode on Wednesday.
