RPF Hands Over Lost Bag With Cash And Valuables To Passenger In Odisha

Cuttack: A lost bag with cash and valuables was returned to the owner by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Cuttack on Sunday.

Sources said that the RPF Post in Cuttack got a message from the RPF Post in Jajpur that a passenger in coach No.S-1/55 of train No.02802 (Purushottam Express) has left behind a bag.

Immediately SIPF PK Parida and Constable MK Munda looked for the bag in the train at Cuttack and retrieved a coffee colour bag from it.

They informed the matter to the owner of the bag. The owner of the bag — Prasanjit Maiti from Maligeria village under Lakshipari police limits in West Bengal, and his friend Pallab Jana — reached the spot.

While verifying the materials inside the bag, a liquid cash of Rs 10,600, an ATM card, a wristwatch, a pair of shoes, four pairs of pants and shirts were found inside the bag. The materials were valued at Rs 15,000.

The bag was then handed over to Maiti and Jana after proper verification.
