Mumbai: After the Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sikandar’ flopped, many became skeptical about the superstar’s future as an actor.
However, Salman’s ‘Bharat’ co-star Shehzad Khan is of the opinion that Salman is not responsible for the films which tank at the box office.
Shehzad believes that in most of his films, Salman casts his friends who are out of work, without even thinking if they will be appropriate for the role, and hence those films don’t work.
Asked about ‘Sikandar’s failure, Shehzad said, “Total nonsense. Yes, his films not working is fine, but Salman Khan can never be finished. Until God calls him, he will keep going. There’s no replacement for Salman Khan. Tiger is alive — and Tiger will remain alive. His films will come and be super-duper hits. This talk about him being finished is total nonsense. All those running their shops on YouTube by speaking against him — we shouldn’t take them seriously.”
“All his scripts that go wrong are because he tries to accommodate his friends who have no work. I won’t take names, but there’s an actor he gave a break to in ‘Sikandar’. That person said, ‘Bhai, I don’t have work,’ and Salman simply said, ‘Do Sikandar.’ That’s who he is,” Shehzad added.
“He helps selflessly. He doesn’t expect loyalty. He believes God is the giver. He’s never done anything with selfish motives. The best thing about Salman is that he helps with one hand in a way the other hand doesn’t even know. That’s his true humility. Forget Being Human — that’s a separate thing. The help he gives discreetly, you can’t even imagine. He actually does less for himself and more for his family and others. He is always there for you—especially for those in need,” Shehzad shared.
“My father used to say Rajesh Khanna was the original superstar, he was given the title ‘SRK’ (Superstar Rajesh Khanna). Girls of every age were obsessed with him. A 6-year-old wanted her brother to be like him, a 60-year-old wanted her husband or son to be like him. But with Salman, it’s not just love—it’s immense love. People feel deeply for him. Because he does a lot and he doesn’t show off. He is difficult to understand. But once you understand him, all misunderstandings disappear. We are old friends. So we know what’s real and what’s not,” he concluded.
