Sattvik Council of India To Open Its 1st Centre Of Excellence In IHM-Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The Sattvik Council of India’s first centre of excellence will come up in the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Bhubaneswar.
Sattvik Council of India (SCI) and IHM signed an MoU in this regard in presence of Abhishek Biswas, Founder, SCI; Satyanarayan Mohapatra, State Coordinator, Odisha-SCI and Sharada Gosh, Principal, IHM, Bhubaneshwar on Wednesday.
With the opening of Sattvik Centre of Excellence, the students can pursue courses on Vegetarian Tourism & Catering
Management, Sattvik Auditor & Lead Auditor, as per the agreement. A series of seminars was also organised on “Sattva’ The Ultimate Pure: Applications of Sattvik Certifications”.
Speaking on the occasion, Biswas said, “SCI has always visioned about transforming certification into education and training. As we open our gateway to “Sattvik Centre of Excellence with IHM, Bhubaneshwar”, the student community can not only pursue courses in specialised vegetarian programmes in hospitality or management through IHM, but also secure a good job in the same. There is constant endeavour to improve academic administration and curriculum upgradation through involvement of subject-matter specialist from both bodies.”
“This was an important step that was needed as vegetarians have to take a step back from the bigger businesses in the world, and it is a drawback. Even though I respect all food choices, we cannot disregard courses in Vegetarian management or auditor. We are facing a huge unemployability after pandemic it has increased, now the students will able to earn a dispensable income after the competition of the course,” Satyanarayan Mohapatra said.
SCI is a non-profit organisation and the world’s first vegetarian food and lifestyle standard development organisation established with an objective to promote the certification of vegetarian food. This is an indigenous certification that has been developed and designed in India with an aim to regulate the vegetarian food and lifestyle chain. The certification fetches its inspiration from Vedas and Puranas.
