New Delhi: Civil defence drills originally planned for Thursday in states bordering Pakistan have been rescheduled to May 31.
Security agencies will now conduct drills across districts in Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday evening, India Today reported.
As Operation Shield, these exercises were initially conducted in over districts across India on May 7, hours before India’s Operation Sindoor which destroyed several terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK.
According to sources such drills will now be held every month in districts adjacent to the Pakistan border. Residents will be advised to remain alert and follow all instructions issued by authorities.
The main objectives of these drills is to enhance preparedness and ensure awareness in regions vulnerable to cross-border threats.
