Cuttack: Senior journalist Pushpamitra Mohanty passed away on Tuesday evening at his residence in Cuttack at the age of 60 following a brief illness.
Mohanty, popularly known as Kitu complained of chest pain on Tuesday afternoon and was admitted to a private hospital in the city and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital. However, he was declared dead by doctors, family sources said.

Notably, he was the youngest son of legendary literary figure Surendra Mohanty.
Pushpamitra Mohanty had begun his career in journalism with Sambad and worked in various departments of the newspaper for over three decades. He played a leading role during the launch of the Sambad Portal in 2016.
