Skoda India Asks User Not To Buy Rapid!

Bhubaneswar: In what was an insensitive or straightforward response, Skoda India head Zac Hollis asked a Twitter user to buy “something else” after he complained that the Rapid did not have enough modern features.

Hollis also said that Skoda currently has more demand than production capacity and won’t be able to supply the new range of cars before 2021.

Hollis later apologized for his remark and said the company is committed to improving services and have invested Rs 8,000 crore in India and are expanding the dealership network as well.

The Twitter user owns a Skoda Rapid and was pointing out that despite being highly-priced, the car doesn’t have features such as keyless entry or push-button start.

The Rapid is selling around 1,000 units a month, making it No. 4 in the sedan list.

In another tweet reply, the active Skoda director informed that the company will be launching a mid-sized SUV next summer, and a mid-sized sedan made for India at the end of 2021.
