Smuggled Gold Worth Rs 5 Crore Seized In Odisha

Rourkela: In a joint raid, a team of the Central Excise and the Customs officials seized smuggled gold worth Rs 5 crore from a train on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off, the team flagged down Howrah-Mumbai Gyaneswari Express at a place between Jharsuguda and Rajgangpur. A total of 110 gold biscuits weighing 12.9 kg, the estimated cost of which will be around Rs 5 crore, were seized during the raid.

The team later detained two persons for interrogation.
