SRH On Top With 5-Run Win Against RCB
Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad put up another spirited game as they defended a low score to secure a five-run win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
This was their fifth consecutive win in the tournament. They are now on top of the points table with 16 points from 10 matches.
After winning the toss, RCB chose to field first and restricted SRH to a modest 146. Skipper Kane Williamson scored 56 off 39 balls.
Chasing the target, Parthiv Patel scored 20 off 13 balls before he was dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan (2/36). Skipper Virat Kohli (39) and opener Manan Vohra (8) added 36 runs for the second wicket, but failed to secure a win.
In the last two overs, RCB needed 19 runs, but they were restricted by Siddharth Kaul (1/25) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/27), who only conceded 14 runs.
After losing this match, RCB are almost out of contention for the play-offs.
