Stay Indoors: Drones To Spray Disinfectants Along This Stretch In Bhubaneswar Tomorrow
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to use drones for spraying disinfectants along the stretch from Raj Mahal Square to Sishu Bhavan Square from 10 am to 3 pm on Tuesday.
This is part of a trial sanitation drive to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the city.
People in these areas have been advised to stay indoors during this period, considering the health hazards of sodium hypochlorite.
The BMC team has so far been spraying disinfectant along major roads and by-lanes to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic. Such sanitisation drives are also being carried out in coordination with the Fire Department.
This move assumes significance as Bhubaneswar has emerged as a potential COVID-19 hotspot with 42 of the total 55 cases in Odisha being reported from this city.
