Cuttack: A second-year student of Sanskrit department of Ravenshaw University on Wednesday lodged a complaint at Malgodown police station here, alleging ragging by a senior student.
According to the complaint, an MBA second-year student of the university had uploaded a post on social media promoting a particular group. The victim had opposed it.

Irked over this, the accused accompanied by his associates barged into the hostel and thrashed the victim severely. They later threatened him with dire consequences, if he disclosed the matter to anyone.
Acting on the complaint, police sent the victim for medical examination and started investigation into the matter.
