Surge In Local Contact Cases In Odisha’s Malkangiri, 312 In Last 9 Days; COVID-19 Tally Rises To 888

Malkangiri: The COVID-19 tally in Malkangiri district surged to 888 on Sunday with an overnight addition of 52 new positive cases.

Among the new cases, 19 are from Malkangiri municipality, 13 from Malkangiri block, seven are from Mathili block, six are from Chitrakonda block, three from Balimela NAC, and two from Kalimela block. As many as 39 among them are local contact cases.

The district has reported more local contacts in the last few days.

Details of local contact cases from August 1 to August 9:

According to the district administration tweets, 312 local contact cases (39 of 53 on August 9, 18 of 27 on August 8, 21 of 36 cases on August 7 and all 72 on August 6, 37 of 38 on August 5, 33 of 34 on August 4, all 39 on August 3, all 24 on August 2 and 29 of 30 on August 1 ), have been detected since August 1.

With two and 512 recoveries, the Malkangiri district has 374 active cases.
