Bengaluru: Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his HSR Layout home in Bengaluru on Sunday.
According to police, there were multiple stab wounds on his chest, stomach and hand, and blood all over the floor where his body was found.
His wife Pallavi and daughter, who were at home, are being questioned by police, who suspect it to be a case of murder.
The 68-year-old Om Prakash, who served as the southern state’s top cop from 2015 to 2017, was allegedly stabbed to death. The murder weapon has been recovered from the scene, reported News18.
Additional commissioner of police (West) Vikash Kumar said the motive behind the crime is not yet clear, and police are questioning Om Prakash’s wife and daughter.
“There was a call on 112 police helpline.. when the team came here they got to know about the murder. He was staying with his wife and daughter. We are taking information from his son as well. We haven’t arrested anyone, we are questioning his wife and daughter, we are still investigating the reason for the murder,” Vikash said.
Pallavi reportedly called another retired IPS officer’s wife and confessed to the crime.
