Teenager Claims To Be Maradona’s Lovechild, Wants Body To Be Dug Up For DNA Test

London: A teenager, claiming to be Diego Maradona’s lovechild, has demanded that the legendary footballer’s body be dug up to conduct a DNA test.

Less than 24 hours after Maradona was buried in Buenos Aires, 19-year-old Santiago Lara lodged a written request through his lawyer Jose Nunez at a family court in his hometown La Plata city, which is an hour’s drive south of Buenos Aires, Daily Mail reported.

They have asked for the exhumation of Maradona’s body so it can be transferred to a court morgue, an autopsy and DNA test.

It’s not an overnight development, Santiago’s battle to identity his real father began in 2014. He claimed Maradona to be his father for the first time four years ago.

Santiago’s mother was a waitress by the name of Natalia Garat, who died of cancer in 2006 following an alleged seven-year relationship with Maradona.

After Natalia’s death, Santiago was raised by his mother’s ex-boyfriend.

Maradona officially has five children.
