Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a further rise in the day temperature in Odisha by 2-4°C during the next 2-3 days.
According to the midday bulletin, there was appreciable fall in the maximum temperature by about 2-3°C at one or two places in the districts of South Interior Odisha, while mercury level rose by about 4-6°C at a few places in the districts of Interior Odisha and 2-4°C in other parts of the state.
It further stated that thunderstorm activity may continue in the state till May 12. Though the cyclonic circulation over interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh has become less marked, a trough is running from the cyclonic circulation over southwest Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood to north interior Odisha across East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
This prediction has come amid likely formation of a cyclonic circulation or low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central and southeast sectors during the second half of next week.

Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
Similar weather condition with gusty surface wind (30-40 kmph) is also likely in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada and Malkangiri during this period.

Similar weather condition with gusty surface wind (30-40 kmph) is also likely in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Similar weather condition with gusty surface wind (30-40 kmph) is also likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Though there is no yellow warning thereafter, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm may occur at one or two places in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati and Nabarangpur during the subsequent two days.
