Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Balasore is set to get a Thunderstorm Research Testbed in thunder prone Balasore district of Odisha. The center will deliver the latest information on lightning and thunderstorm in Odisha.
As per sources, as per the decision of the Ministry of Earth-Science – India Meteorological Department (IMD) is slated to start the project in coordination with the Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) soon.
The testbed will foretell accurate information on thunder and nor’wester. Basing on this, people can be alerted against the subsequent consequence. The research center can also be helpful in minimising loss of life due to thunderstorms in Odisha.
