Timber Worth Over Rs 10 Lakh Seized In Vigilance Raids In Odisha’s Balasore
Balasore: Vigilance sleuths during a raid on 2 illegal saw mills in the district seized timber worth more than Rs 10 lakh on Wednesday.
On getting reliable information regarding running of illegal saw mills in Naichhanpur village under Khantapada police station in the district, a joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest unit of Balasore Vigilance Division with the assistance of local forest staff of Balasore Wildlife Division under Chandipur Range, Balasore.
During the raid, saw mills’ machineries and accessories along with 72.29 cft timber worth Rs 10,29,200 were seized.
Four forest cases were registered under Chandipur Wildlife Range, Balasore in this connection for further legal action.
