Puri: With lakhs of devotees set to throng Puri to witness the Deba Snana Purnima rituals at Shree Jagannath Temple on June 29, Puri Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for smooth vehicular movement and public safety.
The advisory details specific traffic and parking arrangements for four-wheelers, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers arriving from different routes into Puri.
Vehicles coming from different directions are advised to follow specific routes:
From Bhubaneswar: Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) are diverted from Malatipatapur Harekrushnapur Square towards Srisetu to park at New Jagannath Ballav Parking Complex (JBPC) and Old JBPC. Once these are full, LMVs are routed via Harekrushnapur Square to Atharanala for parking at Jail Road.
From Brahmagiri: Vehicles are diverted at Mangalaghata Square for parking at Yatrika, Blue Flag Beach, and Hotel Nilachala Ashok.
From Konark: Traffic is diverted from Grid Station Square toward Blue Flag Beach and Hotel Nilachala Ashok.
Parking Facilities & Mobility Rules
Two-Wheelers: Allowed on the eastern side of Badadanda from Medical Square up to Nayak Plaza on a first-come, first-served basis. Once full, bikes are diverted toward Jail Road and Saradhabali.
No-Vehicle Zone: Enforced strictly from Market Square up to Jaga Balia Lodge and the surrounding temple perimeter. Only emergency, official, or pass-holder vehicles/motorcycles are allowed in this zone.

This apart, around 72 platoons of police force will be deployed to maintain law and order during Deba Snana Purnima at the 12th century shrine on June 29.
Around six SP/commandants, 17 additional SPs, 42 DSPs, 94 inspectors, 352 SIs/ASIs, 53 havildars and 428 constables will also be mobilised at the pilgrim town during the festival. Special and robust barricading arrangements have been made for devotees to ensure they have a smooth darshan after the bathing ceremony of the Trinity.
To strengthen security during the festival, advanced CCTV cameras will be installed inside the temple, around its periphery and at all barricading points. Special crack teams will remain on standby to respond to emergencies.
An anti-snatching squad will also be deployed to prevent incidents of pick-pocketing and chain snatching, along with a striking force to swiftly handle any untoward incident.
