Tudu’s Comment On Keonjhar Babu Needing ‘Bashing’ In Odisha’s M’bhanj Draws Flak
Keonjhar: Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Welfare Bishweswar Tudu has been in the news for a controversial remark he made about apathtic officials needing ”thorough bashing” when they go to Mayurbhanj district.
Tudu, who was in an official tour of Keonjhar district on October 8, visited a water resources project in Kanpur under Joda block and a nodal hospital at Joda before going to Champua to attend a review meet at the conference hall of the Sub-Collector.
Tudu attended the review meeting in the presence of Sub-Collector, ITDA project officials and other engineers. A discussion ensued about a kitchenroom in a Nayagarh school which did not have a fence. A junior engineer who responded to the minister’s query in a lighter vein angered Tudu.
An irked Tudu is alleged to have warned the official that he would have a bitter taste of bashing in public if he visits his home district Mayurbhanj.
The minister’s “bashing theory” assumed significance on social media circles.
