New Delhi: In a twist to the Sonali Phogat death case, police said the BJP leader was drugged. The autopsy report revealed blunt force injury on her and two of her aides were later arrested on murder charges, India Today reported.
Addressing the media, Goa Inspector General Omvir Singh Bishnoi, said, “It was seen that one suspect gave her some substance forcefully. She was given some obnoxious chemical and after that, she was not in control.”
“At 4:30 am when she was not in control, the suspect took her in the toilet and there is no explanation of what they did for two hours. The duo are arrested. The FSL team will take them to various places. The duo will be produced in court soon. Seems to be that she died in the influence of this drug,” he was quoted as saying.
The Goa Police on Thursday arrested two aides of Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat for their alleged involvement in her murder after a post-mortem revealed that there were “multiple blunt force injuries” on her body.
Goa Police officials also revealed that there were no sharp-edged injuries found on Sonali Phogat’s body, reported news agency ANI.
The two associates who are accused in the death case of Phogat are Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Wasi.
