Jammu: Three Army personnel and one police officer were injured in exchange of fire with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘BJP Sankalp Maha Rally’ at poll-bound Jammu on the same day.
All the injured personnel were rushed to the hospital. The encounter is still underway with two terrorists believed to be trapped, according to the reports.
Acting on a tip-off, the security forces had launched an operation in Adigam village in the district. They searched for terrorists during a house-to-house raid.

During the search, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. This led to an exchange of fire from both sides.
“Encounter has started at Adigam Devsar area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Police Zone wrote on X.

Sept 11: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Udhampur district.
Jammu and Kashmir has been witnessing sporadic incidents of violence as it is holding its first Assembly polls in a decade. The election is being held in three phases, of which two were done on September 18 and 25.
