Mumbai: Shreya Ghoshal, India’s most loved singer, hit an emotional chord with the audience at Jio World Garden, Bandra Kurla Complex.
Having postponed the Mumbai leg of her ‘All Hearts Tour’ concert — originally scheduled on May 10 — due to Operation Sindoor, Shreya was at her best during the rescheduled concert on Saturday night.
Besides belting out all her popular numbers, Shreya made it a point to pay a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Armed forces which made the country by successfully carrying out Operation Sindoor and then warding off Pakistani attacks when they tried to launch drones and missiles at several locations in our country.
Pausing in between her chartbusters, Shreya spoke about the role of our Armed forces in ensuring the safety and security of India, and sung the patriotic song ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’.
“Every second that we are standing here, we are not even having a single worry in our mind because there is somebody protecting us at the border,” she said.
“Any place you ever see an Army man, Navy or Air Force officer, unka charan sparsh karna humara banta hai (we should touch their feet). So ye gaana hume charan sparsh karte hue, humare matrubhoomi ke liye hume saath gaana chahiye, mai chahungi ki humara saara band bhi isme invited ho. Saath mein gayenge toh (This song is like a respectful bow from us. We should sing it together for our motherland. I would like our entire band to be part of this as well. If we sing it together, then) I think it will be very beautiful and I feel this is how we should remember this moment,” Shreya said, much the crowd’s appreciation.
