New Delhi: Man or bird, a spy is a spy! Going by the rule, a suspicious pigeon was caught near the international border at Punjab when the bird came flying near a constable who was on duty at BOP Roranwala. An FIR has been lodged against the pigeon which was carrying a piece of paper tied to its legs, India Today reported.
The incident took place on the evening of April 17. The black and white pigeon came and sat on the shoulder of constable Neeraj Kumar while he was on camp guard duty at the post, 500 meters from the border with Pakistan, the report said.
The constable immediately caught hold of the pigeon and informed the post commander Ompal Singh, who then scanned the bird. A white paper was found wrapped with an adhesive tape which had a number written on it. An FIR has been lodged at the Kahagarh police station in Amritsar against the pigeon, the report further added.
What does the FIR say? It identifies the pigeon as a white one with a black head. Among the recovered items is the piece of white paper.
Officials said the pigeon was carrying a “coded message” and was captured by residents of Manyari village in Hiranagar sector soon after it flew into this side from Pakistan, India Today reported.
