Mumbai: Will Shah Rukh Khan play the role of legendary lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi in a biopic or not? The biopic, which has been in the offing for almost eight years now, is making news again. When reports last came in, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was thinking of making it with either Abhishek Bachchan or Irrfan Khan in the lead. Coming back to the present, it is now believed to be on the tables of Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Will King Khan essay the role or not, is not known as yet, Times of India (TOI) reported.
Jasmeet Reen, writer-director of the film on Ludhianvi’s life, has struggled a lot to put the project together. While Farhan Akhtar, Irrfan Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan were supposed to play Ludhianvi-each at different points in time, the names of Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, and Taapsee Pannu had cropped up to play Amrita Pritam, who had a strong affection for Ludhianvi. March 8, 2021, will mark the 100th birth anniversary of the lyricist, the report added.
