Bhadrak: The body of an unidentified woman, suspected to have been murdered, was found on the banks of a river in Tihidi area of Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Friday.
According to preliminary information, locals spotted the body lying on the banks of Reba River in Gumundia area of Bodak Panchayat under the jurisdiction of Tihidi police station.
After receiving information, a team from Tihidi police station visited the spot and began an investigation.
Sources said bloodstains were found on the road near the spot and the woman had visible injury marks on her head, raising strong suspicion of murder. The body was suspected to have been dumped at the location after the crime.
As part of the probe, police are questioning locals to gather information. The identity of the deceased woman is yet to be established. Police suspect she may not be from the local area.
While efforts are on to ascertain the identity of the deceased, investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
