Bhubaneswar: Miscreants allegedly attacked and hacked two persons in separate incidents on busy Bhubaneswar roads last night.
According to sources, 10-15 miscreants came on five motorcycles and attacked a youth at Governor House Square. The victim, Satyabrata Sahu, told the media that 4 among them attacked him but he was unable to recognise them. “They had a previous enmity with a friend of mine, who would hang out with me, and had earlier targeted his elderly brother. When they did not find him today, they chased and attacked me as I tried to escape,” he said.
He is undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital here.
The other incident took place near Sishu Bhawan Square, where 7-8 miscreants in a car attacked a youth, Vicky Nayak of Kedarpalli Basti, with swords after hitting his motorcycle last night. He sustained serious injuries on his hands, back and head.
He was rescued by police, who admitted him to Capital Hospital here. He, however, was later shifted to SCB Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated. His family attributed the incident to past enmity and suspected the attackers to be of the same locality.
Meanwhile, police have begun an investigation and are examining CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
