Balasore/Jajpur: The winners of Zilla Parishad elections have been announced on Sunday. The ZP presidents were elected unopposed in Balasore and Jajpur with the BJD winning the maximum seats in both districts.
In Balasore district, BJD won in 39 of the 45 ZP seats, while the BJP could win in 4 and Congress 1. BJD’s Narayan Pradhan of Zone 29 in Sadar Block was elected party’s Zilla Parishad president.
Deputy District Magistrate Ashish Ishwar Patil announced Narayan Pradhan’s name as ZP president.
After a meeting of the new Zilla Parishad members at the Zilla Parishad Hall, District Magistrate K Sudarshan Chakraborty administered the oath of office to the newly elected Zilla Parishad members.
In Jajpur district, BJD won 39 seats to register a big win in ZP elections. Naliniprabha Jena of Zone 3 in Korei block was elected ZP president.
Nalini Prabha Jena has been elected unopposed as the chairperson with the support of 36 Zilla Parishad members, stated reports.
