167 Doctors To Be Deployed For Puri Rath Yatra
Puri: Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena on Saturday announced that a team of 167 doctors and 160 paramedics will be pressed into service during Rath Yatra in Puri.
Chairing a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat to review the healthcare arrangements during the festival, the minister said, “As many as 20 staff nurses and 194 attendants will also be deployed in the Holy Town to meet any emergency situation.
Besides, a total of 34 health centres will be set up by the state government and 36 by different voluntary organisations in the town and nearby areas to provide healthcare facilities to tourists and visitors.
At the meeting, it was also highlighted that as many as 68 ambulances will be kept ready at different places in and around the town.
Meanwhile, the government has already started food and water quality inspections at different hotels and other establishments in the town.
A total of 619 kg of stale food items have already been damaged by the officials concerned after conducting raids at 913 hotels and fast food centres.
