2-Day Odisha Visit: President Kovind To Stay At Puri Raj Bhawan, Entourage In Hotel

Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind will stay in Puri Raj Bhawan during his two-day visit to Odisha, starting February 19. His entourage will be put up in a hotel, Puri Collector Samarth Verma told the media on Friday.

Earlier, arrangements for his stay were made at a private hotel.

The President is slated to arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 2.45 pm on February 19.  After 10 minutes, he would proceed to Puri and have darshan of the sibling deities at Jagannath Temple at 5 pm. He would spend 45 minutes in the 12th-century shrine.

The following day, the President will inaugurate the three-year celebration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srimad Bhakti Sidhant Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada, the founder of Goudiya Mission. The President will also visit Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt at 10.30 am and then take a flight back to Delhi the same day.

Starting from the Talabania helipad to his accommodation, his visit to the Jagannath temple and Goudiya Missions programme, all necessary arrangements are being made, the collector added.

On Thursday, a team of six Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel had arrived at Puri and inspected the Talabania helipad in Pilgrim Town.

Around 40 platoons of police force will be deployed for the security of the President. 

This is his third visit to Puri so far.
