3 More Micro Composting Centres Come Up In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: As part of the BMC’s waste management plan in the city, three more Micro Composting Centres (MCCs) were inaugurated on Wednesday taking the total facilities to 23.

These facilities envisage converting wet and bio-degradable waste into compost and addressing the waste management in the city.

North Zone of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) now has one more MCC and South East Zone two. Bhubaneswar North MLA Susanta Kumar Rout inaugurated the facility at Gadakana while Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayana Jena inaugurated two MCCs in Unit I PHD water tank

The MCC at Gadakana will provide service to Ward number 9 and 11, while the facilities in Unit I will provide services for Ward number 40 and 53. Each facility has the capacity to handle 5 tonne of waste daily.
