Jhiliagocha Village In Odisha’s Ganjam Declared Containment Zone
Ganjam: The Ganjam district administration declared Jhiliagocha village in Bhanjanagar tehsil as a containment zone on Sunday.
The clampdown came after six traders in the village tested positive for COVID-19, officials said. All the patients were shifted to a COVID hospital, they said, adding that Fire Service personnel have sanitized the area.
The district administration also declared the nearby villages of Brahmanpadar, Gallery, and Biluapada as buffer zones in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
Officials said people will be restricted from moving in or out of the containment zone. All essential commodities will be made available to the villagers, they added.
Of the 40 COVID patients identified in the district on Sunday, one person has succumbed to the infection.
With seven death and 658 recoveries, Ganjam now has 228 active cases.
