Unique Protest By Cong Activists In Odisha’s Nabarangpur
Nabarangpur: In a unique protest as part of the state-wide hartal, Congress activists got their heads tonsured at Umerkote in Nabarangpur district on Friday.
Staging a demonstration to on the State Government for removal of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra over his alleged involvement in sensational Mamita Meher murder case,
Congress activists, under leadership of PCC secretary Khemraj Bagh of Chandahandi block, got their heads shaved (mundan) seeking justice for the schoolteacher.
Despite Orissa High Court’s order not to observe bandh and only allowed hartal, the impact was higher in the district with Congress protestors staging agitations at man junctions in the morning .

“Death of Mahaling schoolteacher Mamita Meher shrouded in mystery even over one month of her murder in Kalahandi district. However, the State Government is trying to shield the minister. Instead of taking action, Chief Minister is encouraging the culprit as well as crime by sharing dais with the minister,” a protestor alleged.
