Cyclone Titli: Train Services Suspended Between Khurda Road & Vizianagaram

Bhubaneswar: In view of the very severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’, the East Coast Railways (ECoR) has decided to suspend train services between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram from both the directions from 10 pm on Wednesday.

Up trains from Howrah/Kharagpur side will not be allowed from Bhadrak after 5.15 pm on Wednesday. Similarly, down trains from Hyderabad/Visakhapatnam side will not be allowed to run from Duvvada (Visakhapatnam) after 6.40 pm.

Long distance trains supposed to pass through ECoR jurisdiction between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram may be diverted via Nagpur–Balharshah-Vijayawada directions, if feasible. Some trains may be cancelled or may be cancelled partially according to the situation.

No movement of passenger trains will take place between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram section after 10 pm, till further notice.

17016 Vishaka Express (10.10.18) will be terminated at Vizag and will run as 17015 from Vizag to Secundrabad on 11.10.18.

12516 Silchar-Trivandrum Express (10.10.18) will be short terminated at Howrah.

12507 Trivandrum Silchar Express (09.10.18) will be diverted via VZM-TIG-SBP-JSG-ASN-DGR-RPH.

Trains Rescheduled:

20813 Puri-Jodhpur Express from Puri will leave at 7.45 pm instead of 5.55 pm

18405 Puri-Ahmedabad Express from Puri will leave at 9.25 pm instead of 6.20

18425 Puri-Durg Express from Puri will leave at 11.30 pm instead of 6.30 pm

12882 Puri-Howrah Garib Rath Express scheduled to leave Puri at 10.10 am on Thursday will leave at 5 am on Thursday.

12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail from Howrah on 10.10.2018 will leave at 0800hrs on 11.10.2018.

12660 Shalimar-Trivandrum Express from Shalimar on 10.10.2018 will leave at 0815hrs on 11.10.2018.

E-tickets will auto refunded if the train is fully cancelled. If the train is diverted or short terminated, TDR is needed to be filed online. For tickets booked at the counter, a TDR will be issued with three days for trains cancelled and a refund can be requested within 10 days from the date of commencement.

ECoR has taken steps to ensure uninterrupted communication between stations and has kept diesel engines on stand-by in case overhead electricity wires are affected. Wagons filled with sand, quarry dust are also on standby in case track wash-outs.

ECoR has asked passengers to wait for the next bulletin for further updates. Cyclone Titli is expected to make landfall on Odisha coast early on Thursday morning.
