New Delhi: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, experienced an unexpected disruption after a pro-Khalistan protester stormed the stage holding a Khalistani flag.
Videos of the incident have surfaced online, showing security personnel swiftly intervening before the individual was taken into custody.
The concert was held in the city as part of Diljit’s Aura World Tour, which featured back-to-back performances over the weekend.

This is not the first time that an overseas concert of Diljit has faced disruptions linked to pro-Khalistan supporters.
In April, during the Canadian leg of his Aura 2026 Tour, a group of individuals had raised pro-Khalistan slogans and waved separatist flags inside the venue.
According to reports, security personnel escorted them out.
Following the incident, Diljit addressed the disruption through a post on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Standing outside and protesting — anyone can do that. But if you try to come inside and harass my fans, that will not be tolerated. If someone brings a banner or a flag, it usually means they want to show where they’ve come from and that they support me. But if you’re standing outside with the same banner abusing my fans, and then try to come inside and do the same thing, that will not be tolerated.”
He added, “This is not about any banner or flag — the real issue is your intention behind it. I told security that anyone trying to disrupt the program should be picked up and thrown out. I never said anything against any banner, so don’t spread fake narratives. I’ve been avoiding this issue since last year — but not anymore). Thank you. Love & peace (peace sign emoji).”
Last October, Diljit made an appearance on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 17’, where he touched host Amitabh Bachchan’s feet as a gesture of respect.
During the episode, the veteran actor referred to him as ‘Punjab da puttar’ (Punjab’s son) and commended his relief work during the floods.
However, the episode reportedly sparked outrage among members of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), an organisation linked to the pro-Khalistan movement.
According to an NDTV report, SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun accused Diljit of disrespecting the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by honouring Bachchan.
The group also reiterated allegations that Amitabh had incited mobs with the slogan ‘Khoon Ka Badla Khoon’ on October 31, 1984. Big B has consistently denied those claims.
SFJ threatened to target and disrupt Diljit’s concerts following the KBC appearance, leading to increased security measures at several of his overseas shows.
