Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued traffic guidelines for Vice President CP Radhakrishnan scheduled visit to Odisha on July 9, during which he will formally launch the national rollout of the letter of authorisation (LoA) for Indian-flagged vessels engaged in high seas fishing.
During the day-long visit, the V-P will also attend the 15th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (N ISER) at Jatni in Khordha district.
In view of security concern of VIP/VVIPS and to ensure better regulation and free flow of traffic, Bhubaneswar-Kataka Police has imposed following restrictions:
Roads to be closed and timings
10.25 AM to 10.45 AM: Airport Square-Hospital Square-AG Square-left turn-Lok Bhavan Square- Gopabandhu Square- OUAT Square.
12.25 PM to 12.40 PM: OUAT Square-Gopabandhu Square-Lok Bhawan Square.
1.40 PM to 2.30 PM: Lok Bhavan Square-left turn- Power House Square-120 Battalion Square-Sastri Nagar Square- Behera Sehi Square-Jaydev Vihar Square- left turn- NH-16- Khordha Bypass service road- Carmel School Square-Kholadwar Square- Padanpur Square- NISER. .
3.55 PM to 5.25 PM: NISER- Padanpur Square-Kholadwar Square-Carmel School Square- Khordha Bypass service road- NH-16- Jaydev Vihar- left turn- Pal Height Cut- “U” turn-Jaydev Vihar Square- Behera Sahi Square- Sastrinagar Square-20 Battalion Square- Power House Square- Lok Bhavan Square- left turn- AG Square- Right turn – Hospital Square- Airport Square.
The Commissionerate Police has appealed to all commuters and residents to avoid these routes, plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes wherever possible. “We request the co-operation and support of the members of public to ensure the success of the event and maintain smooth traffic flow in the city.
These restrictions are not applicable for the emergency vehicles (Fire and Ambulance), it added.
