The manifesto also proposes implementation of Ayushmaan Bharat scheme and the PM-Kisan yojana. The party had accused the ruling BJD government of posing obstacles in the implementing of both these schemes.

Chairman of the BJP poll manifesto committee Biswabhushan Harichandan said the manifesto has been prepared after wide-ranging consultations with the people across the state. Accordingly, the nine priority areas were identified, he added.

Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan said the manifesto reflects BJP’s dream of making Odisha a knowledge-based society steeped in its culture and tradition. “Odisha has the potential to become the manufacturing hub of South-East Asia,” he added.

The salient points of the manifesto are as follows:

Interest-free loan to farmers

House, water, health, electricity to all by 2022

Provision to award capital punishment to those involved in rape of girls aged 15 years or young.

Subhadra Samriddhi Yojana wherein every girl children on enrollment in 10th class, 12th class and graduate education will receive Rs10,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, and on completion of education will receive Rs 15,000 .

Establish 5 Super Speciality Medi – Cities across the state to provide world-class affordable healthcare to the common man and medical colleges in every district.

Free quality education in government educational institutions from kindergarten to postgraduate to all economically weaker sections.

Feasibility studies to initiate a Capital Area Metro Rail Project to connect and integrate the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Expansion of irrigation network in the state through a dedicated fund of Rs 1,00,000crores over the next five years.

Filling up of all government vacancies are filled up within 2 years of assuming office.

Releasing the manifesto, the BJP president slammed the Naveen Patnaik government for having presided over a corrupt government for the last 19 years and failing on all fronts. He accused the ruling party of lacking vision and serving own political interest at the expense of the poor in the state.
