BJD Leader Pradeep Maharathy Granted Conditional Bail
Bhubaneswar: A Special Designated Court here on Saturday granted conditional bail to BJD leader and sitting Pipili MLA Pradeep Maharathy in connection with an alleged attack on a poll flying squad.
The court granted bail to Maharathy on a surety of Rs 50,000 with a condition not to influence the witnesses. The court also directed him to assist the police in their investigation.
The BJD leader is presently undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital here.
Earlier in the day, police had submitted the concerned case diary and injury report in the court.
The BJD leader was arrested on April 22 for leading the alleged assault on a magistrate of a poll flying squad inside his farmhouse on the night of April 20.
Maharathy was booked under Sections 307, 353, 341, 332, 147, 148, 149, 188, 294, 333, 171 (B) & 506 of the IPC and 123 of Representation of the People Act.
