BJD Seeks Action Against Dharmendra For ‘Misbehaving’ With Poll Officials

Bhubaneswar: A BJD delegation met Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha Surendra Kumar on Wednesday and demanded action against BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for allegedly misbehaving with polling officials in Sambalpur the previous day.

The delegation alleged that the Union Minister prevented government officers from checking his helicopter and a sealed suitcase that he was carrying. “We demand strict action against him. His behaviour was unbecoming of a political leader,” the party stated in its complaint.

The BJD also demanded that the contents of the sealed suitcase, which Dharmendra was carrying, should be made public.

A video showing the Union Minister engaging in a verbal duel with some policemen when they approached him to check the helicopter at MCL helipad in Sambalpur, had gone viral.

The delegation submitted another memorandum to the CEO seeking action against OTV for allegedly violating the guidelines in silence by conducting a live panel discussion with guests from BJP and Congress.
