Campaign Against Poaching Of Wild Animals By Electrocution Launched In Odisha’s Ganjam
Berhampur: In order to prevent poaching of wild animals through electrocution, the Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has been promoting awareness through “Nukkad Natak” (roadside plays) in Ganjam district.
The company has been educating the people on unauthorised hooking for animal poaching, illegal construction near TPSODL infrastructure and domestic electrical safety through roadside plays.
The company has planned 135 such activities at strategic locations that are vulnerable to animal poaching along with locations of public and animal conflicts this year.
Those locations include areas under Bhanjanagar and Aska Circles. The villages to be covered under Buguda location include Motabadi, Nagari, Dakarabadi, Belapada, Gandhinagar, Patharapalli, Talasakara, Bethhiabaradaa, Kanasukaa, Goudiaborada, Kunjabana, Nuagam, Golabandha ,Manichara, Digi, Karsingh, Udayapur, Talasara, Mareipalli and Buguda.
“We value the life of every employee and the public at large. The Nukkad Nataks are based on the theme of preventing animal and public incidents at vulnerable locations. We have a vision of making TPSODL incident and injury free with special care for the safety of wild animals,” said Arvind Singh, Chief Executive Officer TPSODL in a press release.
