Bhubaneswar: The deep depression over north Andhra Pradesh coast, moved slowly west-northwest with a speed of 3 kmph during past the six hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) early Thursday morning.
It had crossed the coast close to southwest of Kalingapatnam during 11 pm on Wednesday night deep depression with maximum sustained wind speed of 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph, the IMD added.
It then moved West-northwest and lay centred at 5.30 am on Thursday over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, around 50 km West of Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 80 km north-northeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and 170 km southwest of Gopalpur (Odisha).
It is very likely to move north-westwards initially maintaining intensity of deep depression for the next 12 hrs, as per the latest IMD forecast at 5.30 am Thursday.
Thereafter it is very likely to move north-northwest and weaken gradually during the subsequent 24 hours, the forecast added.
