Bhubaneswar: The International Conference on Recent Advances in Nanomedicine brought together more than 500 participants, comprising of medical professionals, social scientists, startups, researchers and students.
The conference, organised at KIIT-DU on February 21 and 22, featured experts from around the world.
Keynote speakers from the USA, Switzerland, Spain, India, Germany, Argentina, France, Ireland and Australia shared insights into the latest advancements in nanotechnology-based diagnostics, imaging and therapeutics.
The conference was jointly conducted by the Precision Nanomedicine Journal (USA), School of Biotechnology and Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) of KIIT University, along with Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) — an initiative of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Indian government.
Discussions also focused on how scientific and entrepreneurial innovations can lead to affordable, scalable and sustainable healthcare solutions.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Patrick Hunziker, president of International Society for Nanomedicine, University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, and Prof. Lajos P Balogh, Editor-in-Chief of Precision Nanomedicine (PRNANO), USA.
Prof. Mrutyunjay Suar, Director General of Research & Innovation at KIIT University and CEO of KIIT Technology Business Incubator (KIITTBI), delivered the welcome address.
Students from across India presented posters and pitched innovative ideas. Some of the best groundbreaking innovations in the sector will be incubated at KIITTBI for further development.
KIIT University and BCKIC reaffirmed their commitment to fostering excellence in the science and technology ecosystem through such initiatives.
