Huge Rock Python Rescued From Poultry Farm In Odisha’s Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal: The Snake Helpline has rescued a huge rock python from a poultry farm in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
According to sources, Nari Behera of Achhanda village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station spotted the snake in his poultry farm where he had gone to work on Sunday morning.
Shocked by the sight of the huge snake inside the farm, he ran away from the farm and told the villagers about it. They rushed to the farm and informed the Snake Helpline.
Snake rescuers Suryakant Behera and Sankar Nayak went to the farm and rescued the snake. They identified it as Indian rock python. On measuring the snake, they found it to be 18 feet in length and weighed around 80 kg. Despite its huge size, the python is non-venomous.
Later, the Snake Helpline members took the python in a bag and released in a forest in Kapilash in presence of Forest officials.
