IMFA Mines Bags First Prize In Underground Mining At MEMC Week Celebration
Bhubaneswar: Sukinda Mines (Chromite) and Mahagiri Mines (Chromite) of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) received major awards at the concluding day ceremony of the 22nd Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation (MEMC) Week held in the state capital. The MEMC week was organised under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Bhubaneswar Region.
Mahagiri Mines bagged the first prize in the Underground Mining overall performance category. Sukinda Mines bagged the first prize for Afforestation and the third prize for Reclamation and Rehabilitation. The awards were received by GM (Mines) Lalatendu Mahapatra for Mahagiri Mines and Sr. Manager (Mines) Manoj Samal for Sukinda Mines. Bulu Mohanty of Mahagiri Mines got the first prize for the best Odia slogan on environment.
The chief guest, Additional Chief Secretary, Dept. of Steel & Mines, RK Sharma, IAS, GoO gave away the prizes.
