New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was called “the most popular man in Israel” by Israel PM Naftali Bennett in an animated conversation on Tuesday.
The Israeli leader tweeted a video in which the two Prime Ministers were seen sharing a light moment amid their packed schedules at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
Bennett also invited Modi to “come join my party” which made PM Modi burst into laughter.
For the first time, the two leaders met on Tuesday on the sidelines of the COP26 climate summit. The two leaders reviewed the bilateral ties and exchanged views about expanding cooperation in high-technology and innovation areas. Their maiden formal meeting came following their brief interaction during the climate conference on Monday.
The bilateral ties between the countries were elevated to a strategic partnership during Prime Minister Modi’s historic visit to Israel in 2017. Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Israel in the last 70 years.
