Bhubaneswar: Amid reports of delay in printing, the Odisha government on Wednesday stated that students in all schools across the state will receive their textbooks before the end of the summer vacation.
Seeking to dispel apprehensions from different quarters, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond said arrangements have been made to ensure that all textbooks are distributed to students before the summer vacation is over.
Addressing concerns over delays in textbook distribution, the Minister admitted that there has been some delay due to printing issues at certain presses.
However, he clarified that 90% of the textbooks have already been printed and are being supplied to students. The remaining 10% of books will also reach the students before the summer vacation ends,” Gond stated.
The government is fully concerned about the students’ academic needs and assured that there will be no disruption in studies due to the shortage of textbooks, he said.
The Minister’s statement comes amid reports of delay in the distribution of textbooks in several districts ahead of the new academic session.
