Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday launched the second phase of the ambitious Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Vidyalaya with the foundation stone being laid for 204 new schools across the state.
Rolling out the second phase, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for the initiative at Lokanath Dev Government High School in Kumarabasta under Jatni area of Khurda district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening school education and expanding access to quality learning infrastructure. He said the government aims to establish one model school in every panchayat across the state to ensure better educational opportunities for students, particularly in rural areas.
The event was attended by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, along with other dignitaries and officials.
Under the first phase of the scheme, foundation stones had already been laid for 118 schools. With the addition of 204 schools in the second phase, the government has further accelerated its efforts to develop modern educational institutions equipped with improved infrastructure and learning facilities.
The Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Vidyalaya Scheme is a key initiative of the Odisha government aimed at enhancing the quality of school education and creating a strong academic foundation for students throughout the state.
As per the announcement made by the state government, the foundation stone for the second phase of Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Vidyalaya Scheme was laid in order to strengthen school education, said Majhi.
The CM recalled that the foundation stone for 118 Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Vidyalayas was laid at Banpur in Khurda district, which getting more more such schools now.
