Odisha Engineer In Vigilance Net; 2 Multi-Storey Bldgs, 2 Plots; Rs 1.61 Cr Deposits Unearthed
Bhubaneswar: Anti-corruption Vigilance wing of Odisha on Tuesday unearthed two multi-storey buildings, as many plots and bank, postal and insurance deposits over Rs.1.61 crore and other assets during raids at the house and other premises of an Assistant Engineer of Rural Works Division posted in Sundargarh district in a disproportionate case.
Simultaneous searches are being conducted at seven locations of assistant engineer Sanjay Kumar Behera. The search operations are being led by 4 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSsP), 10 Inspectors, 4 ASIs and other staff, a Vigilance release said.
The searchs are being conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh at the following 7 places in Sundargarh and Bhadrak districts:
1) Double-storey residential building at Bhadrak Town
2) Residential house at his native village Bonth in Bhadrak district
3) Rented residential house located at Kenduapada, Sundargarh
4) The office chamber at SE, RW Divn, Sundargarh
5) Residential house of relative situated at village Sindola, Bhadrak district
6) The office chamber of Behera at AE, RW Sub-Divn, Lephripada where he was also in-charge
7) The government residential quarter at RW Office campus, Lephripada, Sundargarh.
ASSETS UNEARTHED
1) A double-storey building over plinth area of 2,500 sqft at Jagannathpur, Bhadrak town.
2) A single-storey building at native village Bonth, Bhadrak district
3) A piece of land vide plot No.861/1728 under Khata No.290/797, Mauza- Jagannathpur, Bhadrak Town.
4) A piece of land vide plot No.530/3818 under Khata No.771/781, Mauza- Chandama, Jajpur.
5) Bank, Postal deposits and Insurance Deposits over Rs. 1.61 crore.
6) Gold weighing 200 grams
7) 2 two wheelers.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing, the release further said, adding that searches are continuing.
