Bhubaneswar: A total of 3,273 high schools in Odisha achieved 100% pass rate in the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, the result of which was declared by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Friday.
These include 1,802 government high schools, 1,154 government-aided high schools and 317 unaided schools.
However, the overall pass percentage dipped to 94.93% from 96.07% last year. A total of 5,02,417 candidates appeared for the examination in 2025. Of these, 4,84,863 passed while 17,384 flunked the exam.
Last year, 9,701 students had received Grade F.
“This year, 1,112 students scored A1 grade (above 90 per cent), while 12,200 received A2, 38,831 got B1, and 84,971 passed in B2. Over 1 lakh students secured C grade, and 67,013 cleared the exam with E grade,” School and Mass Education Minister Minister Nityanand Gond told reporters.
This year too, girls outperformed the boys. A total of 244,612 girls passed the exam with a pass percentage of 96 per cent, outperforming 240,251 boys. One result was withheld, and 169 students were marked for malpractices.
The Minister further stated that the pass percentage of government schools was better than aided and unaided schools. “No school in Odisha recorded zero results,” he added.
