Odisha’s Berhampur University Conducts 8-Day Faculty Development Programme
Berhampur: An 8-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Advanced ICT Tools for Teaching and Research’ was organised by AIU-AADC, Berhampur University in partnership with Association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi.
The programme, held in a hybrid mode, concluded on February 21.
The University hosted the valedictory event of FDP, which was attended by several dignitaries, faculty members and other participants.
Dr Amarendra Pani, Joint Director and Head of the Research Division of AIU, said that Berhampur University is among 10 universities in India selected for undertaking collaborative activities and programmes directed towards training and capacity-building of faculty members and administrative functionaries to deal with hybrid/blended learning with focus on latest pedagogical reforms.
Expressing her satisfaction at successful organisation of the FCD, Berhampur University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Geetanjali Dash assured that more such programmes will be organised for improving skills of teachers and administrative staff of the university and colleges.
Among others who addressed the participants were chief speaker Prof. AK Pujari, former Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Rajasthan and Sambalpur University, and Prof. Pratap Kumar Mohanty, Chairman PG Council, Berhampur University.
The valedictory address was delivered by former Vice-Chancellor of Khallikote University Prof. Amarendra Narayan Misra, who stressed on the importance of adoption of advanced ICT tools for blended teaching and learning at different levels.
All those who completed the FDP were awarded certificate of participation.
Dr Tamoghna Acharya, Associate Professor of Department of Marine Science, Berhampur University, was adjudged ‘Best Participant’ for his enriching discussions during various sessions and performance in the test.
